Cathode Foundry

Example site for a fictional Portland maker of a milled-aluminium handheld console and its game catalogue. Demonstrates selling hardware and content together, in limited runs.

Cathode Foundry is an invented small-batch hardware company selling one beautifully made handheld and the original games written for it. The interesting problem is that it has two things to sell at once — a physical object and a library — and it releases in limited runs rather than continuously. The site shows how to make scarcity feel like craft instead of pressure, how to give a catalogue of content its own room without burying the hardware, and how to capture interest between drops so a waiting list becomes an asset.
